About NamePuzzle: Makers of Wooden Puzzles Engraved with Names

We focus on turning a child's name or a meaningful date into a one-of-a-kind puzzle, engraved on wooden pieces. Here we explain the thinking behind our work and how an order usually proceeds.

NamePuzzle focuses on making name-engraved wooden puzzles and custom wooden puzzles. We started from noticing how many people look for items with a name on them for first-birthday gifts, children's birthdays, and milestones like starting school. That is why we place the greatest importance on matching letter size, piece shape, and layout to what the person ordering has in mind.

The result of a wooden puzzle varies greatly depending on the materials and how they are processed. Since children may put them in their mouths or handle them, the general approach is to choose eco-friendly wood, smooth the surface carefully, and use safe paints and finishes. Laser cutting and engraving methods affect the clarity of the letters and the precision of the pieces, so we usually review these together during the design stage.

A puzzle can be more than a simple toy; it can also serve as an educational tool that helps children build hand strength and learn sequencing through play. For that reason, we think it is important to set the number of pieces and the difficulty to suit the child's age. In making name puzzles, we consider how to design the experience so that a child finding and fitting together their own name naturally grows into an interest in letters.

Above all, we take care to guide you so that you can comfortably ask any questions during the ordering process. The clearer you are about what you want, the closer the finished piece will come to your expectations, so please feel free to be candid about even the smallest details.

How it's made

  1. Organizing your inquiry and requests

Please tell us the name or wording you want, along with the desired size and purpose. It also helps to include related details such as the anniversary date or your preferred colors.

  2. Reviewing the design proposal

Based on the information you provide, we organize the letter layout and piece composition and show it to you. At this stage you can freely adjust the letter size or placement.

  3. Deciding on materials and processing method

We choose the wood and finishing method considering the child's age and the environment of use. We also explain the differences between laser cutting and engraving at this stage.

  4. Production and final inspection

Once the design is confirmed, we proceed with processing and check the fit of the pieces and the surface condition once more. Finished puzzles are checked down to the packaging before they are delivered to you.
